Is it time to re-evaluate the owners?
Lots of people will never change their minds on them, but I'm certainly beginning to think that after a rough early tenure they are deserve some credit.

No one can argue we're not moving forward compared to when they came in.

The usual predictable, bog standard thread after a big signing. Round and round and round, how come some of you cunts never get dizzy?

I wont ever like them, I don't like the way they do stuff, the way they carry themselves and the way this reflects on West Ham. That being said liking and hating isn't a binary thing as im not a child so Im still happy to give them credit when its due and fair play they seem to be backing us more now and haven maybe learnt some lessons.

They have, and will always have their faults which they are rightly criticised for, and there are many things they could do better.

However, I find it hard to fault many decisions on the football side of the club since they appointed Pellegrini. They've listened to him and Husillos, trusted them with player acquisitions and stumped up a lot more money than we've ever spent to finance it.

Manuel,

I don't recall seeing a thread on it before but if you are bored of it then I'm sorry.

It's not just about the signings (although surely it's primarily what you judge owners out.

They seem to have learned to keep their mouths shut.

They've never cashed in on a player that wasn't toxic.

Sullivan's sons no longer making us look tinpot.

The stadium is improving, and one day in the future it could be the reason we actually win something.

Bought in some quality staff too.

There's something distinctly unlikable about Sullivan, but I think it's pretty clear now he's not here to bleed the club dry like many of us thought, myself included

Not sure Sullivan is the type to admit he's distinctly unlikable.

Obviously you'll never change your mind as you can't even bring yourself to give them credit for the last signing.

Re: Is it time to re-evaluate the owners?
If they'd done all this at the Boleyn I'd have been happy. They could have done as the move has not benefited us financially at all. This money is coming solely from TV - we do not have more match day income and are unlikely to in the near future.

As a result of fan power they employed a decent manager and are investing in the team at a reasonable rate.

But the original move was sold on a lie and that will nto change. So, I'm happy they're no longer incompetent but not happy they lied.

Re: Is it time to re-evaluate the owners?
As for Sullivan he's massively increased the value of his asset and the club is now a creditor to him for millions and millions of interest. He's making a huge amount of money from the club. This money is not coming from his pocket. I don't get why people don't understand that.

I don't actually object to an owner making a profit. I do object to them taking credit for putting their hand in their pocket when they're not doing that at all.

Well said Fifth, hardly any of the dimwits on here understand what Sullivan and Gold's real game is.

The move from The Boleyn was so they could replace the bank loans with their own loans at usurious interest rates.

At the end of 2017 they had taken £12m out of the club in interest repayments, they've set the club up as a cash cow for themselves and their families in perpetuity.

Re: Is it time to re-evaluate the owners?
I can't find much to fault them with since the appointment of Pellegrini, now that they seem to be leaving the running of the club to the manager and DoF. They don't really deserve any credit for that though. Should have been like that from day one.

Never forgive them for selling Upton Park, although to be fair they didn't know at the time of the OS bid that the TV money would increase so much, thus making the match day revenue less important.

Also, we should bear in mind that in the future the ticket prices will go up a lot and if we ever start getting regular European football then there'll be a big income boost from the corporate seats. It's not like the paltry increase in revenue we've seen so far has to stay that way, although I suspect that only some wealthy new owners could take advantage of it.

Some big signings is the fucking least these classless shitbags can do after selling our fucking home to line their own pockets and constantly bullshit the fans. They're only in this for the profit, make no mistake. Still CUNTS.

Some of you are easily bought.

Re: Is it time to re-evaluate the owners?
I'm happier on the face of it.

While the stadium lacks charm, it is a step forward in club profile irrespective of whether there are more funds coming through from it.

Much as the Boleyn was a better football stadium it was far less impressive to look at and in a surrounding area that could have been positively off-putting.

These kinds of things help with new signings. They've also got in a top drawer manager, and a DOF, stepped back from the limelight, and are improving the type of signings being made by trusting the manager's judgement and backing it.

Concerns remain about whether the sudden switch to this big spending is sustainable (if we didn't have the cash before why do we have it now) and are they over-extending.

But it's hard to deny that the team is stronger, and things are generally on an upward trajectory.

Really? then why was Sullivan leading the negotiations for Haller?

In terms of investment in the team, theyre coming with the goods.

But, this needs to be the norm if we're to seriously contend with the top clubs.

The trouble we have is that we spend 40 million on a striker, Man city, etc spend that and more on defenders.
